Beat the Heat
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is launching a multi-sport event to raise awareness about childhood obesity. Beat the Heat, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, will take place July 18 and 19 at Falling Waters, a mountain retreat in north Georgia. The weekend event caters to athletes, families and children of all ages featuring a myriad of physical activities.

This July, The Hambidge Center for Creative Arts & Sciences Inc. hosts the 11th annual Hambidge Summer Festival and Georgia Pottery Show. This year's event chairs are Atlanta residents Dorothy Kirkley and Deb Sudbury.

I truly hope that this event is considered to be posted. I believe it will inspire people from other towns to do the same. This city use to be somewhat racially divided, but this march will allow everyone of every race to come together and walk together for a great cause.
