Dido & Æneas and At The Statue of Venus
Baroque meets modern opera when the Capitol City Opera Company with Co-Sponsorship by Arts & Ideas at Oglethorpe University, performs Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas along with Jake Heggie's newest work, At The Statue Of Venus. Premiering in 2005 for Denver Opera, this 20 minute opera is termed, "a musical scene for soprano and Piano" with libretto by Terrance McNally. We've teamed it up with Henry Purcell's famous tragedy Dido & Aeneas. Sept 14-16.
