We'll meet at Ga.400 at noon and carpool to Amicalola State Park to enjoy the wonders of nature and colorful scenic views. It's easy to see why this is one of Georgia's most popular state parks. Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning "tumbling waters," is an appropriate name for these 729 foot falls- the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River, which is visible from the parking area. A beautiful lodge on the mountain top serves a bountiful brunch. Afterwards, we'll select the hike perfect for us from the numerous trails available. Before heading home, we'll sit by the roaring fire and reflect on our wonderful day of fitness, food, and fellowship fun!
