Have you ever wondered why these elusive creatures are so important? Have you seen a bat up close? Join us for this engaging and hands-on adult and family program. This program is hosted in partnership with the Georgia Bat Working Group.
6:00 - 7:00 Picnic. Bring your dinner and enjoy the quiet evening hours.
7:00 - 8:30 Learn About Bats. Adults & children 4 and older will go their separate ways to learn all about bats; what they eat, how they echolocate, why they have such importance in our ecosystem and how to build a bat box at home.
8:30 - 9:30 Campfire. Roast marshmallows & enjoy a summer campfire.
9:00 - 10:30 Optional Netting. Stay a bit later and use nets to temporarily capture & investigate bats
Adults, families & (supervised) children of all ages welcome.
