Features a 5K run and walk, along with activities for the whole family. Participants receive a T-shirt and a goody bag at the event. On-site registration at 9 a.m. at Grant Park pavilions. Registration closes 10 a.m. Opening ceremony begins at 10:15 a.m. 5K run begins at 10:30 a.m. 5K walk begins at 10:45 a.m. Register online in advance of the PurpleStride Atlanta event, at www.pancan.org/purplestrideatlanta . Registration before noon Fri., Nov. 14 is $20 for adult walkers or runners (ages 12 and up) and $10 for children walking or running (6-11 years old). Registration at the event is $25 for adults; and $6 for children 6-12 years old. Registration is free for pancreatic cancer patients, survivors and children younger than 5 years old. Sign up by Thursday, Nov. 6 to be guaranteed an event t-shirt in your size. Money raised goes to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which funds pancreatic cancer research, education and awareness.
