The Atlanta Balalaika Society Orchestra will perform Russian, Eastern European, Gypsy and Jewish folk music, featuring domra virtuoso Angelina Galashenkova-Reed, bayan soloist Alla Melnik and balalaika soloist David C. Cooper. The Atlanta Balalaika Society, now in its 28th year, is one of the largest orchestras of Russian folk instruments outside of Russia, and is the primary promoter of Russian folk culture in the Southeast. Colorfully dressed in traditional folk costumes, the orchestra performs on balalaikas, domras, and bayans (Russian button accordions), along with other ancient wind and percussion instruments.
