Organizers have announced today the first annual Atlanta Santa Speedo Run will be held on December 12, 2009. This 1.3 mile run through the Virginia-Highland will pit runners against the elements as they don Speedos and holiday accessories to raise money for the local Atlanta non-profit organization, CHRIS Kids.
This year's race begins and ends at Dark Horse Tavern in the Virginia Highlands. The festivities will being at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2009 and the run will take place sometime thereafter. All participants are asked to raise $100 in order to support Chris Kids. Speedos are of course required but runners are encouraged to accessorize following the holiday theme with fun flair such as Santa hats, beards, garland, etc. For more information about the Santa Speedo Run visit: www.atlantasantaspeedorun.org
