City Of Ink Art Show features artwork from one of Atlanta’s known unknowns— Waye Hesk.
Opening recetion will be Friday April 4, 2008 from 9pm to 12am.
In 1998 Waye apprenticed with Totem 2—a well known artist from the crew GSK. Waye painted until 2001, studied graphic design at The Creative Circus, and in 2006 left school to finally pursue his lifelong dream as a freelance illustrator and designer. Waye has worked at the Shandon Anderson Foundation and was published in an art book/magazine called “Dreamwater”.
His style of work reflects a contemporary urban experience as a graffiti artist and graphic designer meet. He is also very experienced with vector art, and has been doing design work for numerous start-up companies—as well as designing the imprint ‘HeskCo’. The majority of his pieces today are still done by hand unless they are designed in Adobe Illustrator from scratch. “I have to be careful of what I communicate visually as an artist because as adults we are the example kids follow”.
