Written, directed and produced by Theresa "Outspoken" Mayo and co-directed by Tiffany Wade, "do Sinners Have A Soul: A Spoken Word Stage Play" is not a Gospel Play! It is a gritty, melodic depiction of the soul of a neighborhood and the people who reside within it. This multi-media production uses spoken word poetry, popular music, dance and eye-opening imagery to provide insight into everyday reality for many…selfishness, brutality, abandonment and finally transformation and deliverance.
Leroy only cares about his paper. Ulene only cares about herself. Leisha only cares about getting high and nobody cares about Lil D or Corey. The storyteller will take you to a place where souls cry until they are silent, where souls are sold before they can form, a place so defiled, one wonders would God even acknowledge sinners of this degree.
This story stresses individual struggles, chronicles a community's demise and shares a thug's plea for redemption.
